Travel diary: Dublin

Hello everyone!

Last summer i visited Ireland with my family. I stayed there for 12 days and we started with our trip at Dublin. Today i want to tell you about my stay in Dublin and in the next time there will be some more posts about the other cities and places that we visited in Ireland.

We stayed 2 days to visit the city and in my opinion this is enough time to see everything in Dublin. The hotel that we booked was Albany House. It is a typically british hotel, with small but nice rooms and the breakfast was not big but absolutely okay.

Now i want to show you some of my favorite sights in this city:

The first thing that we saw was the Guinness Storehouse, where you get shown how the famous Guinness beer is brewn. But you also get told about the history, the marketing, you can try to draw your own beer, and at the end you get a beer for free at the bar on top of the building. Even though the price is high i would recommend a visit to everyone.

My favorite church in Dublin is St.Patricks Cathedral. It is really big and the colourful windows are the reason for the great ambiente inside. There is also a little great souvenir shop inside with a lot of amazing gifts, and not the typical tourist souvenirs.

St.Stephens Green is a beautiful small park inside the city, near Grafton street. There are some animals, like swans, and you would never think of being in such a big city, because it is so idyllic.

Another amazing museum is the Irish Whiskey Museum. At first we didn´t even knew that this museum exists, but then the lady at the tourist office told us that it is really nice and she didn´t lie. It is an interactive experience, where a tour guide tells you a lot about the history of irish whiskey and at the end you get three different whiskeys to try and the barkeeper tells you more about each one of it.

We also visited Dublin Castle. It offers many rooms and you can see that Dublin is taking good care of this building. Some really important people like the Queen have already been there. A visit is a really good idea.

Hope you liked my little review of Dublin :D
